Plumbing System Design Engineer Course

Plumbing systems are one of the most important and vital parts of an overall building design.

The plumbing education employment programme will provide the ability to design the plumbing system and to gain the best plumbing principle and code requirements. Uniform Plumbing Code 2008 India (2008 UPC- I) is a model code of plumbing installation and maintenance.

2008 UPC - I has been prepared by the code committee of IPA and IAPMO. The UPC will reduce the potential hazards in plumbing, lower the construction costs, provide standards in design and construction and contribute to community well-being. Hence, we conduct this course based on UPC 2008 which will help the engineers, architects, plumbers, contractors and engineering students to study the UPC- 2008.

Objectives of the course

This course is highly accepted through - out the Globe especially in the USA, Middle East and Far East countries. By doing this course one can improve the future potential with respect to securing good placement. UPC-I is the First ever Plumbing Code developed by Indian plumbing Industry. To achieve its mission of “BETTER PLUMBING FOR BETTER LIVING”. UPC-I is a model Code of plumbing installation and maintenance in India.

 Curriculum

The IPA-IIP-IAPMO-I Plumbing Education to Employment Program (PEEP) is based on the UPC-I. The course is conducted by trained and certified PEEP Instructors. The course curriculum has been designed and recommended by IPA-IIP-IAPMO-India.

The Plumbing Systems Design course has the following modules.
  • A two semester one year part time course for Degree or Diploma holders working in the field at the offices or site.
  • Three months full time short term course.
Semester 1

Theory 34 hours, Practical 12 hours including a site visit and Assignments / Topic Presentation 4 hours. Total 50 hours

Semester 2

Theory 31, Practical 12 hours including a site visit and demonstrations and Assignments / Project work 17 hours. Total 60 hours.

Certification :

The IPA-IAPMO comprehensive Examination program plays a vital role in assessing knowledge of the UPC-I as an indicator of proficiency in the use of the UPC-I Code and Standards. After passing a required Examination, the candidate will receive a “Certified Plumbing Engineer” and Wallet identification Card indicating the title and scope of the certification. Each certification document will display with signatures of IAPMO, IPA and IIP personnel or members.


Eligibility:

Third year or final year Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering Degree and final year Diploma students, Architects, Engineers and Technical Staff.


Placement:

Premier and globally reputed construction companies, Architects, Builders from India and abroad are expected to absorb the successful candidates.
